Consignor Information

Consignor Rules

  • Catalogue fees: $100 per colt.
  • Consignors may “no sale” or pass on their colt. If passed out, the consignor pays a $200 buyback/pass-out fee.
  • Only colts consigned to the sale are allowed on the sale grounds.
  • All colts consigned to the Top Gun Horse Sale are expected to remain in the sale and be offered for sale on September 13, 2025.
  • All colts must go through the sale ring—no alley trading allowed.
  • The accuracy of all catalogue information is the sole responsibility of the consignor.
  • A 10% sales commission (minimum $150) applies to all colts sold, in addition to the catalogue fee.

Bidding Information (In-Person and Online)

Registration

  • In-person bidders can register for the sale at the information desk, where a photo ID is required.
  • Online registration opens September 7, 2025 and ends September 12, 2025 at noon.

Bidding Rules

  • The sale management, auctioneers, and employees act as agents for the seller but assume no liability for either the buyer or the seller.
  • All responsibility and guarantees are between the buyer and seller
  • The highest bidder will be the buyer if the reserve is met or exceeded.
  • Bids must be made in good faith, with buyers assuming full responsibility for payment.
  • In case of a dispute, the colt will be re-auctioned.
  • Registration papers will be provided by mail once cheque payments have cleared.

Buyer Responsibilities

  • Buyers and spectators are advised to exercise caution on the sale grounds, especially during colt demonstrations.
  • Any person registering is responsible for and liable for their bidding card
  • Buyers are responsible for examining colts carefully before bidding (e.g., conformation faults, defects, size).
  • Buyers assume all expenses and risks on colts after purchase.
  • Purchased colt will not be transferred until full payment has been made to Top Gun Horse Sales.
  • The correct manifest, including brand information or ‘no brand’, must be completed upon pickup of the colt.
  • Top Gun Horse Sales does not assume responsibility for potential buyers visiting consignors’ properties.
  • Proper brand inspection paperwork must be completed before removing colt from the sale site.

Additional Online Terms

  • Online bids must adhere to the same auction rules as in-person bids.
  • Online bidders must agree to a 50% preauthorization of the intended purchase price, which will be released if no purchase is made. By agreeing to this preauthorization, you, the bidder/buyer, accept full responsibility for payment, including the 3% transaction fee and GST, immediately following the sale of the colt on September 13, 2025.
  • All preauthorized bidders who do not purchase a colt will have preauthorization amount released back on credit card following completion of the Top Gun Horse Sale on September 13, 2025.

Buyer Payment & Fees

  • Accepted payment methods: Cash, Cheque, Debit, or Credit Card (Visa/MasterCard). A 3% processing fee applies to credit card payments.
  • GST applies to all purchases.
  • Purchased colts will not change hands until full payment is received.
